Phone tripod — which height and which type

A tripod is the cheapest gear that improves footage the most: a hand shakes, a tripod does not. Choose by two things — height and where you use it. At MobileLand tripods are in stock in our stores and ship in 24–48 h.

Types

• Desk (15–30 cm) — for a table or shelf: video calls, recipes, unboxing, filming your hands. Fits in a bag.
• Flexible (gorilla) — legs bend and wrap around a railing, branch or bike frame; for places with no flat surface.
• Telescopic 1–1.3 m — the compromise: tall enough for seated shots and portraits, fits in a backpack.
• Telescopic 1.5–2 m — for full-body shots, TikTok dances, workouts, hairdressers and beauticians; usually with a Bluetooth shutter and a holder that rotates portrait/landscape.
• With LED / ring light — tripod and light in one, for anything shot indoors.
• MagSafe with tracking — the phone holds by magnet and the base rotates itself to follow your face as you move; for vlogs and presentations without a camera operator.

What to watch for

The holder must fit your phone with its case (usually 55–95 mm) and rotate 360° — portrait for TikTok, landscape for YouTube. Stability: a 2 m tripod with an Ultra-class phone needs wider legs; in wind weigh it down with a bag. A Bluetooth shutter works with iPhone and Android without an app (press = photo / start recording). The 1/4" thread is standard — ring lights, microphones and cameras mount on any tripod.
