Car phone charger — what you need to know

A factory USB socket in a car usually gives 5 W: enough to stop the battery dropping, not enough to charge while navigation runs. A charger in the lighter socket fixes that for a few euros. At MobileLand car chargers are grouped by power and by number and type of ports.

Which power to choose

• USB-A 12–18 W (QC 3.0) — for older phones and the cable you already have.
• USB-C 20–30 W PD — iPhone, Samsung, Xiaomi: charges fast even with navigation on. Our recommendation for most drivers.
• Dual (USB-C + USB-A, 30–45 W) — driver and passenger at once, or phone + dash cam.
• 65 W and up — charges a laptop in the car (USB-C PD); for field work and travel.

12 V and 24 V

All our car chargers work on both 12 V (car) and 24 V (truck, bus). The charger has overvoltage and short-circuit protection — important in older vehicles with unstable voltage at start-up.

Practical tips

A charger with an LED indicator shows it has power — in some cars the lighter socket only works with the key turned. If the phone charges slowly despite a strong charger, the cable is to blame: take a USB-C cable rated 3 A. For a phone on a mount, a short 25–50 cm cable does not dangle across the cabin. Alongside the charger see phone holders and FM transmitters, which also have a charging USB. Delivery in 24–48 h, cash on delivery.
