Keyboards and keyboard + mouse combos

A keyboard is where the difference between cheap and good is felt most: the click, key travel, layout and whether it has your letters. At MobileLand keyboards are split into office, wireless combos with a mouse, and gaming keyboards; each listing states the layout and switch type.

Membrane or mechanical

Membrane is quiet, thin and cheap — for the office, home and a laptop on the desk. Mechanical has a separate switch under every key: more precise travel, lasts 50+ million presses, louder; for all-day typing and games. The compromise is "mem-mechanical" and quiet mechanical (red/brown switches).

Layout and local letters

Most keyboards on the market are US layout (single-row Enter); local letters (Č, Ć, Š, Ž, Đ) are typed via system settings and learned in a day. SR/HR layout has a two-row Enter and local letters printed on the keys — choose it if you type in the local language all day. Cyrillic is added as a system layout or with stickers.

Wireless combos

A keyboard + mouse combo on one USB receiver is the most common choice for a home PC and TV: a tidy desk, batteries lasting 12–24 months. Compact keyboards with a touchpad are for smart TVs and mini PCs. For a laptop take the Bluetooth version to save a USB port.
