Electric scooter — what to know before buying
For many in Montenegro an electric scooter has replaced the second car on the home–work–beach run. It is chosen by range, power for hills and the weight you can carry up stairs. This category also holds parts and accessories: tyres, inner tubes, chargers, brakes, lights and locks. At MobileLand every listing states real-world range, motor power and maximum load.
Range and battery
Manufacturers quote range for a 70 kg rider on flat ground with no wind. Count on 60–70 % of the stated figure: a "up to 30 km" scooter realistically does 18–22 km in town. For a daily 5 km each way, 25–30 km of stated range is enough; for more, take a 10 Ah battery or larger.
Power and hills
A 250–350 W motor handles flat ground and gentle slopes; for Bar, Budva and Podgorica with steep streets look for 500 W or more or dual motors. A rider over 90 kg also needs a stronger motor. The maximum load is in the listing — do not exceed it, it is about brake safety.
Tyres, brakes, maintenance
- Solid tyres — no punctures, harder ride; pneumatic — softer and safer in the wet, can puncture (we stock replacement tyres and inner tubes for 8.5" and 10").
- Brakes — disc brake + electronic (regenerative) is standard; check the cable regularly.
- Charge after every ride, do not leave the battery empty, store at room temperature in winter.
