Electric scooter tyres — why they are not all the same

The tyre is the only part of the scooter that touches the road, so it is the one part not to save on. The market is full of cheap thin-wall inner tubes: cheaper at the till, burst at the first pothole or kerb — and then you pay for a new tube and a second fitting. At MobileLand we stock reinforced-wall inner tubes in 8.5", 10" and 12", with straight or angled valves (45°/90°), for Xiaomi M365, 1S, Essential, Pro, Pro 2, Mi 3, Mi 4 and Ninebot F/G30.

Solid tyres: branded only

A solid tyre ends punctures for good, but only if it is made of the right compound. Cheap copies are hard as plastic: they slide in corners, lengthen braking in the wet and crack at the edge. We sell branded solid tyres only (Telempire, CST) in 8.5×2, 10×2.125 and 10×2.5 — softer over bumps, with grip that holds. Pneumatic outer tyres are CST, Innova and Wanda.

Why we are a few euros dearer than some sellers in Montenegro

Some dealers in Montenegro offer the "same" tyre cheaper. The difference is in what the photo does not show: an inner tube without reinforced edges — often a plain bicycle tube in scooter size. A bicycle rolls at 10 km/h and spreads the load; a scooter does 25 km/h, its small wheel hits every pothole and all the weight sits on two small tyres. Such a tube bursts at the first kerb — and the replacement (new tube + wheel off + labour) costs more than a quality tube would have cost from the start. The same goes for outer and tubeless tyres: a thin sidewall without reinforcement tears on the rim or blows under pressure.

This is about safety, not money: a front tyre bursting at 25 km/h means going over the handlebar, and a fall onto asphalt at that speed can be fatal. The difference between the real product and the copy is a few euros — and all of it is in the tyre wall. That is why we carry no bicycle tubes for scooters: only reinforced inner tubes and branded outer, solid and tubeless tyres.

Safety is the reason, not price

  • Pneumatic tyre (outer + inner tube) — softest and safest in the wet; needs a reinforced tube and 40–50 psi.
  • Solid tyre — no punctures, firmer ride; choose a branded one, fitting is easier with the tyre tool (€2.50) or in our stores.
  • Tubeless — no inner tube, valve on the rim; for Mi 4 and off-road.

Replace tyres in pairs when the tread is under 1 mm or the sidewall shows cracks — one worn front tyre is the most common cause of a fall. Delivery in 24–48 h across Montenegro, cash on delivery; our stores can fit the tyre for you.

Frequently asked questions

Why is your inner tube dearer than the market one?
Because it has reinforced walls. A thin cheap tube bursts at the first pothole or kerb, so you pay for a new tube and a second fitting — double in the end. Our 8.5", 10" and 12" tubes start at €8 and are in stock.
I saw the same tyre cheaper elsewhere — what is the difference?
The tyre wall. The cheaper one is usually a bicycle tube without reinforced edges sold in scooter size: at 25 km/h on a small wheel it bursts at the first kerb, and the replacement costs more than the price difference. A front tyre bursting while riding means going over the handlebar — so those few euros are not a saving.
Are all solid tyres the same?
No. Cheap copies are hard as plastic — they slide in corners, brake later in the wet and crack at the edge. We sell branded solid tyres only (Telempire, CST) from €18, softer and with grip that holds.
Solid or pneumatic — which is safer?
Pneumatic is softer and safer in the wet but can puncture — so pair it with a reinforced tube and 40–50 psi. Solid never punctures but rides harder; choose a branded one and ride a little slower in the wet.
Which tyre fits my scooter?
Xiaomi M365, 1S, Essential, Pro and Pro 2: 8.5". Mi 3, Mi 4 and Ninebot G30: 10". Ninebot F-series and Mi 4 Lite: 10×2.125 with a straight valve. If unsure, send us the size from the old tyre sidewall or the scooter model.
Can you fit the tyre for me?
Yes, in our stores. For a DIY fit we have the tyre tool (€2.50); replace the inner tube as soon as the sidewall shows a crack, and tyres in pairs.
How do I pay and how long does delivery take?
Cash on delivery; courier delivery across Montenegro takes 24–48 h from confirmation; orders over €20 ship free.
