Tempered glass or film — which to choose

The screen is the most expensive part of a phone to repair, and a protector costs about as much as a coffee in town. The question is not whether, but which. At MobileLand protectors are sorted by phone model, so first check the exact model in Settings — dimensions differ even between the standard, Plus and FE editions of the same series.

Types of protection

• Tempered glass — the most common choice: 9H hardness, touch feel like bare glass, it breaks instead of the screen. 0.3 mm is the standard thickness.
• Full glue / 3D / curved — for phones with rounded screens (Samsung S series, some Xiaomi). Adhesive over the whole surface means no rainbow patches and no empty edge.
• Privacy glass — darkened at an angle: readable only head-on. For commuting and the office.
• Matte / anti-glare — no reflections, no fingerprints, slightly softer feel; gamers like it.
• Hydrogel film — flexible, follows curved edges, "heals" small scratches; weaker on impact.
• Camera protector — a small glass ring or plate for the lenses; take it with the screen glass, the camera is what keys in a pocket scratch first.

How to apply without bubbles

Clean the screen with the wet then dry wipe from the pack, lift dust with the sticker, align the glass with the camera cutout and lower it from one side. If a bubble gets in, push it towards the edge with a card. In every one of our stores we apply the glass on the spot.
